Dani
is
a
graduate
student
at
the
University
of
Waterloo
School
of
Architecture
who,
alongside
fellow
student Jes Hanzelkova,
helped
coordinate
the
student-led
initiative
named ‘Treaty
Lands,
Global
Stories’ from
January
2018
to
June
2020.
Together
they
wrote
a
piece
entitled
‘Breaking
Canons’
for
the
publication galt.,
a
student-run,
peer-reviewed
annual
journal
at
the
school.
In
November
2019,
TLGS
organized
an
exhibition
at
UWSA
entitled ‘People,
people
should
know.’ that
showcased
profiles
of
designers
who
are
BIPOC
and/or
do
work
with
marginalized
or
minority
groups
in
the
field
of
architecture,
industrial
design,
and
fabrication.
Dani's
thesis
work seeks
to
identify
the
necessary
elements
which
accompany
the
fish harvesting
rituals
of
Indigenous
people
in
Southern
Georgian
Bay
such
as
the
ability
to
build
‘incidental’
cabins
for
temporal
habitation.
