After years of training and preparation for independent research, early career researchers nonetheless encounter a fair degree of uncertainty in preparation for life after training. Do our predoctoral and post-doctoral training programs truly prepare us for what lies ahead? Do I have the ability to “make it” in the academic world? Where should I focus my attention if I want to pursue an academic career? The purpose of this workshop is to demystify several core issues that likely play key roles in the uncertainties you have about life as an academic.
