Chemistry lab gets eco-friendly design
Lab instructor Leanne Racicot recently oversaw the renovation of her chemistry lab with sustainability principles in mind. Racicot is passionate about teaching students how to perform science in an eco-conscious manner.
Some of the environmentally-friendly features found in the new space include ductless fume hoods, as well as recirculating chillers and vacuum filtration systems that reduce tap water usage. The lab has been certified under the Silver designation in the Sustainability Office's Green Labs program.
