Engineering update: Updates for all Engineering instructors plus a request for info

Update for instructors in the Faculty of Engineering

I hope your contingency planning has worked out ok. These are challenging days for everyone.

The Provost would like to a concise summary of what is happening in each course this term, specifically about replacements for in-person final exams. I'm assured this isn't some bureaucratic request; my guess is that it's tied to government resources to help universities with their online transition. Please click on the link below and insert in the google sheet your course info, name, and a few words about your plan to replace the in-person final exam. They need the data soon, by midnight tomorrow (Thursday), so it would be great if you would do it now.  Maximum 30 seconds, I promise.

Communications from the Registrar’s Office (RO) to undergraduate students are archived at https://uwaterloo.ca/registrar-resources-staff-and-faculty/; you need to log in and go to “Mass email communications – undergraduate students,” where you will find all the COVID-19 emails. And please remember: no in-person class activities are permitted on or off campus!

IST provides update on staying connected and working securely from a remote location, how to get IT help and support 

Update for employees

Information Systems & Technology (IST) has closed its three on-campus service desk locations. IT support will be provided through online tools, including email, phone and live chat. IST staff are working from home, in accordance with the University response to COVID-19, and will only return to campus to restore critical services, as necessary.

University employees have access to a number of excellent online collaboration and productivity tools, including Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive.
