Preparing for an online start to the winter term

Update for undergraduate students

  • Fall exams will continue as previously scheduled 
  • Classes will begin on January 5, 2022 but those classes scheduled for in-person delivery will begin online 
  • We will return to in-person delivery for classes scheduled for in- person as of January 24, 2022 or as public health conditions allow

Case tracking: one community member tests positive

On Wednesday, December 15, Region of Waterloo public health informed us of one individual who tested positive for COVID-19 and who had visited our campus.

The individual is in self-isolation and public health officials are contacting anyone indentified as a close contact of the individual.

If you are not contacted, you have not been identified as a close contact of the individual. You should continue to follow our on-campus safety procedures including our campus check in screening daily, and self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 and seek testing if needed.

Recent news about the rise of COVID-19 cases in Ontario, driven by the emergence of the Omicron variant, means that 2021 is ending with a great deal of uncertainty about the future, once again.

On Monday, December 6, Region of Waterloo public health informed us of two individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 and who had visited our campus.

The individuals are in self-isolation and officials have been in touch with all known close contacts of these individuals.
