Exception process for essential research-related travel during COVID

Update for faculty

  • We are introducing an exception process to allow faculty members to apply for essential research travel during COVID-19 to conduct international sabbaticals or long-term research activities 
  • We will not consider requests for exceptions for short-term travel

Case tracking: one community member tests positive

On Thursday, March 11, 2021, Region of Waterloo public health informed us of one individual who tested positive for COVID-19 and had visited our campus.

If you have not been identified as a close contact of the individual, you should continue to follow our on-campus safety procedures including our campus check in screening daily, and self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 and seek testing if needed.

Changes to COVID safety protocols

Update for students

  • We are making some changes to safety protocols for people who come to campus.
  • If anyone in your household has symptoms of COVID-19 or is waiting for COVID test results, you must self-isolate and not come to campus.
  • You may need to wear medical grade masks if you can’t maintain physical distancing while you work or study.

Case tracking: one community member tests positive

On Saturday, February 27, 2021, Region of Waterloo public health informed us of one individual who tested positive for COVID-19 and had visited our campus.

The individual was last on campus on Februrary 23 and did not have any identified close contacts while on campus. They are in self-isolation.

If you have not been identified as a close contact of the individual, you should continue to follow our on-campus safety procedures including our campus check in screening daily, and self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 and seek testing if needed.
