We are updating domestic travel guidance and guidance for reimbursement of domestic travel. From today, individuals can travel within Canada for University business and seek reimbursement if the travel is approved by a Department Head or Chair.
Travel inside Canada – including local or national travel for meetings with donors – can resume as long as travelers:
Individuals travelling must work with the health and safety coordinator for their unit who will review and approves the safety plan.
You can find copies of required safety plans for domestic travel as well as specific instructions for researchers and employees in academic support-units on the COVID-19 information website.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
