Award description:
A scholarship valued at $1,500, will be awarded to a master's or doctoral student registered full time in the School of Optometry & Vision Science in the Faculty of Science. Selection will be based on academic excellence and the student's demonstrated research interest in understanding the mechanisms, diagnosis and treatment options for ocular diseases or other visual impairments. This fund is made possible by a donation from Douglas Ingleton.

Eligibility & selection criteria:
- Full-time graduate students registered in the master's or doctoral program in School of Optometry & Vision Science
- Selection will be based on academic excellence (minimum cumulative average of 80% or equivalent) and demonstrated research interest in understanding the mechanisms, diagnosis or treatment of ocular diseases (such as, but not limited to: glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration) or other visual impairments
- A specific award application is not required
- The School of Optometry & Vision Science will identify candidates and select a recipient normally in the winter term with payment made in the spring term
