Award description:
Awards of varying size are available to students registered in the Bachelor of Global Business and Digital Arts or Master of Digital Experience Innovation program to assist with costs (not covered by the student's tuition fees) associated with extracurricular activity that will enhance the education in their program. Examples of acceptable extracurricular activities include a hackathon, design camp, a non-academic industry-led conference, or field trip. Selection will be based on a written demonstration of how the activity will benefit the student's knowledge acquisition or professional development, or enrich their in-class learning. Interested students must apply by completing an application form and submit it to the Stratford School Academic Administrative Assistant. Applications will be accepted throughout the year.
Value description:
The value of the award will be determined by the Stratford School Associate Director Undergraduate/ Associate Director Graduate or their designate.
Eligibility & selection criteria:
- Open to full-time undergraduate and full or part-time graduate students enrolled in the Bachelor of Global Business and Digital Arts (GBDA) or Master of Digital Experience Innovation (MDEI) programs.
- Applicants must be in good academic standing at the time of application.
- The applicant must demonstrate in a written statement how the activity will benefit knowledge acquisition or enrich in-class learning.
- Activities for consideration may include, but are not limited to:
- Conference or competition participation
- Volunteer or minimally paid work experience opportunities
- Domestic or international field trips
- Skills acquisition workshops or seminars
- Networking events
- The award may support, but is not limited to expenses such as:
- Travel and accommodation
- Meals
- Entry fees
- Materials/supplies
- In order to receive the award, students will participate in a knowledge dissemination activity upon completion to document the experience and the learnings. This could take the form of a vlog or blog post and/or digital assets such as video, vine, photo journal, etc.
- Selection will be based on the merit of the activity and the articulation of its value to the student's education.
- Students will receive their award upon completion of their experience, proof of attendance, and completion of the knowledge dissemination activity.
- Students are able to receive this award more than once.

Applications will be accepted at any time throughout the year as opportunities are identified.
The applicant will submit an award application form to the Stratford School of Interaction Design and Business Academic Administrative Assistant. The applicant must provide a description of the activity, an outline of what they will learn, how they will benefit from the experience, as well as a budget. Applications should be submitted at least one month prior to the start date of the activity.
