Award description:
Scholarships valued at up to $20,000 each will be provided annually to graduate students registered full-time in a Master's or Doctoral program at the School of Accounting and Finance in the Faculty of Arts, and the School of Environment, Enterprise and Development in the Faculty of Environment, at the University of Waterloo. Selection will be made automatically by the respective Schools, without the need of an application, based on academic excellence, extracurricular achievements and/or volunteer involvement with the Hub for Sustainability Integration and demonstrated research in the fields of financial management or sustainability, as appropriate. This award is made possible by a donation from Royal Bank of Canada (RBC).

Eligibility & selection criteria: 

  • Domestic and international graduate students registered full-time in a Master's or Doctoral program at the School of Accounting and Finance in the Faculty of Arts, or the School of Environment, Enterprise and Development in the Faculty of Environment, at the University of Waterloo.
  • Eligible students, regardless of program, must be conducting research in the field of sustainability and financial management.
  • Minimum first-class (80%) cumulative average in the current program or over the last two full-time academic years required.
  • Must be within the time limits of the program.
  • Extracurricular achievements and/or volunteer involvement with the Hub for Sustainability Integration will be taken into consideration.
  • No application is required. Schools will nominate students automatically based on their allocation of funds annually in the Spring term. Annually, $20,000 is allocated to the School of Accounting and Finance at the Faculty of Arts and $20,000 is allocated to the School of Environment, Enterprise and Development at the Faculty of Environment. Each School will nominate students based on their allocation of funds.
