Secure your digital environment at Waterloo and beyond

A message from IST.
Honk! Welcome to Cyber Awareness Month!
Throughout Cyber Awareness Month, the Goose will guide us through a series of cyber security lessons inspired by life in the gaggle. Anyone who has encountered a nesting goose knows how seriously they take protecting their home, their young, and their community. Who better to guide us through building a safer Waterloo digital home than one of campus's most dedicated protectors?
This week, the Goose focuses on the nest. A secure home doesn't happen by accident. Geese carefully build their nests, protect what matters most, and maintain them throughout the season. Our digital homes require the same approach through the three Ds of a Secure Nest: Security by Design, Security in Depth, and Security Detailing.

First Nations rights and health system transformation

A message from the Faculty of Health.
What is "health system transformation" and why do we need it? For First Nations people across the country, there still remain gaps in health status. Dr. Nel Wieman, a Waterloo Kinesiology alum and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) in British Columbia and Canada's first female Indigenous psychiatrist, shares their work in antiracism, cultural safety, quality and health human resources — grounded in First Nations rights, relationality and partnerships.
Join us for this important Hallman Lecture on Tuesday, October 6 at 6 p.m. in OPT 1129.
