Thesis examination
The primary objective of the program is the completion of research work and presentation in a master’s thesis.
- The topic of the thesis is arranged by students and their faculty supervisor(s). The research work leading to the thesis must be performed under the direction of the faculty supervisor(s).
- Students must orally defend their thesis before a thesis examination committee for their thesis to be accepted. Candidates first present their research work orally in an organized and informative manner. The presentation is followed by questioning from the examination committee.
- Please review the Thesis Examination Guidelines for detailed information.
Students enrolled in either a collaborative or direct-entry MASc program should consult the Graduate Studies Academic Calendar for their degree requirements.
