Green TEA

Following the university-wide establishment of the Teaching Fellowship program to enhance the depth and effectiveness of student learning at the institution, Environment has launched the website Green TEA to offer professors, instructors and tutors information that can be used to enhance their teaching.

The site, built by graduate student Maria Legault and organized by Environment Teaching Fellow Mary Louise McAllister aims to showcase the great work being done by teachers in Environment, and inspire teaching innovation across the faculty.

Along with the new website featuring news, resources, teaching-related events, video and practical advice, a new Twitter account has been established to facilitate a faculty-wide conversation around teaching in the faculty.

“The goal is a worthy one,” says McAllister. “Namely it is aimed at facilitating instructor success and innovation, establishing communities of practice regarding teaching and learning, and working collaboratively with the Centre for Teaching Excellence.”

Visitors to the new site will be greeted by a video of Geography and Environmental Management professor Dr. Ellsworth LeDrew discussing his many activities related to citizen science, experiential education, use of technology in the classroom, and integrating research and teaching.
