Last week, on a beautiful, sunny Tuesday afternoon, the Faculty of Environment’s Spring 2015 Convocation ceremony was held. As part of the event, degrees were conferred upon 70 Environment and Resource Studies (ERS) students.
Many students’ supporters (family members and friends) came to share in the celebrations, and the atmosphere was full of laughter and emotion. The day’s proceedings reflect the breadth and depth of the students’ achievements. Notable across the BES degrees awarded to 55 undergraduate students is the range of joint honours, minors and specializations pursued (details below). The scale of research achievement realized by the 13 Master’s and 2 PhD recipients is also important to highlight.
The day was also special for the Department, because Prof. Mary Louise McAllister received her Distinguished Teacher Award. The roar of the students in appreciation as her name was announced was heart-warming!
