Printmaking

Printing press in the printmaking studio of East Campus Hall.

The University of Waterloo has a well-equipped print studio in East Campus Hall (ECH) 1231, with facilities for silkscreen, stone and plate lithography, intaglio, relief and large format digital printing.  Please remember to review the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for printmaking equipment.

Recently, the University of Waterloo’s printmaking area implemented a series of methodologies that promote greener, safer, non-toxic studio habits for the print shop. Part of this endeavor included the Printmaker's Compendium. Created through the generous support of UW’s LITE Seed Grant program, this online resource includes more 50 how-to tutorials, as well as a student archive and printmaking tips and tricks
