Award description: 

An award valued at $500 will be awarded to a student registered full time in their third term in either a master’s or doctoral program in French Studies in the Faculty of Arts. Selection will be based on the highest cumulative average of the first two full-time terms in their current program. A recipient will be selected annually in June, without the need for an award application, by the Associate Chair for Graduate Studies, Department of French Studies.

Eligibility & selection criteria: 
  • A full-time graduate student currently registered in a Master’s or Doctoral program in the Department of French Studies in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Waterloo.
  • Selection will be based on demonstrated academic excellence and will be awarded to the student with the highest average in the first two terms of their current program.
  • An award application is not required.
  • The recipient will be selected by the Associate Chair for Graduate Studies, Department of French Studies, each June.
  • Students may only receive this award once during their graduate program.
  • Students may not receive this award concurrently with the Graduate Engagement and Leadership Award in French Studies or the Nantes Graduate Award.
