GSA health plan expands to include additional mental health supports

The Graduate Student Association (GSA) has announced additional mental health supports under the GSA Health Plan coverage. The expanded coverage will make it easier for students to access mental health services from an increased number of licensed health practitioners.

Graduate LaTex-writing Workshop

Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs (GSPA) will be hosting an introduction to LaTeX workshop on Thursday December 5, at the Science Teaching Complex (STC), presenting the basics of writing academic and professional papers, including your thesis. Using Overleaf, presenters will share how to include images, design beautiful mathematical equations, and show how to easily manage your documents.   

Full-day and afternoon only registration options are available.

International Education Week

From November 18-22, the University of Waterloo will be joining over 100 countries to celebrate International Education Week (IEW)

Activities, programs, and events promoting the opportunities and benefits of international education will be held by a variety of campus partners. Events this year will include a photo contest, student panels, a keynote speaker and more!

Graduate Student Medical Leave Award

Effective since January 1, 2018 eligible research-based master's and doctoral students who must go inactive for medical reasons (e.g, physical or mental health) may be eligible to receive a Graduate Student Medical Leave Award, valued at a maximum of $5,000. 

Students must have been registered full time for at least one academic term and have been in receipt of a financial package from their Department/School in the term immediately prior to going inactive for medical reasons.
