Waterloo is pleased to provide the President's Graduate Scholarship (PGS) to outstanding graduate students who hold certain major federally and provincially-funded competition-based scholarships.
The PGS is provided each year that a student holds an eligible graduate scholarship at Waterloo.
The PGS is valued at up to $10,000. A portion of the PGS is paid as a scholarship by Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs (GSPA) and for some awards, a portion is paid by the student's department as either a scholarship, Graduate Research Studentship, Teaching Assistantship (TA) or Research Assistantship (RA).
A breakdown of the award values can be found on the PGS web page.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
