geochemical
analyses
and
experiments.
The
goal
of
the
experiments
is
to
improve
our
understanding
of
mechanisms
controlling
the
fate
of
contaminants
in
groundwater,
surface
water,
and
soils.
Instruments
Methlymercury analyzer
- Automated Tekran 2700 Methyl Mercury Analysis System
- Fully-integrated, gas chromatography, cold-vapor atomic fluorescence spectrophotometer (GC-CVAFS)
- Direct vial purge for simplified operation
- Capable of interfacing to ICP/MS to yield isotopic ratios for methyl mercury
Distillation Unit
- Tekran 2750 Mercury Distillation System
- Actively cooled water bath eliminates the need for ice
- Precision PID temperature controlled aluminum heating block
- Programmable timer allows automatic shut off of the heater, chiller and purge gas supply at the completion of the distillation cycle
