IST announces 2022 Annual Report

IST’s Annual Report – IT highlights from the past year

A message from Bruce Campbell, Chief Information Officer, Information Systems & Technology

The Fall 2022 issue of the IST Newsletter is now available. There are several new, exciting projects underway that we’re excited to share with you. We’ve improved the user experience for postdoctoral fellows; purchased an Adobe Acrobat Pro licence for campus; launched a new web voting tool; and are actioning the IT Review recommendations, just to name a few. Jump over to the IST Newsletter to learn more about what we’ve been up to this term.

What is happening? In consultation with the Faculty of Engineering and the Office of the Provost, space currently used by Information Systems & Technology’s Instructional Technologies and Media Services (IST-ITMS) team to provide their Studio services will be transferred to Engineering as there is a need to use the space – the anechoic chambers – for its designed purpose.

When is this happening? The transition will occur by January 31, 2023.

What is happening? IST recently procured an Adobe Acrobat Pro enterprise license. This software is now available upon request to temporary full-time staff and faculty (e.g., contract employees and co-op students) at the University of Waterloo for a maximum of 1-year. This is in addition to Acrobat’s availability to all permanent full-time employees (see communication below). Part-time employees will need to continue to purchase a license separately (
