Update [5:07 p.m. April 12]:

The University of Waterloo’s student information system, Quest, has successfully moved from its on-premises environment to the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environment.

Oracle's next-generation cloud infrastructure provides a modern, secure, high-performance environment for our Quest system. Leveraging real-time data analytics, the student information system team are now able to quickly scale development and production environments to meet demand. This leading-edge technology ensures the Quest support team is in the best position to respond to feature and functionality requests, enhancing the overall experience of our clients.

As a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, University of Waterloo-provided services Zoom, and two-factor authentication (2FA) service Duo are now or will be unavailable to individuals attempting to authenticate from several countries and regions restricted by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) — a financial intelligence and enforcement agency of the United States Treasury Department.

As of March 10, 2022, the below places will be impacted by this change. Waterloo students studying in Iran are most likely to be impacted. Please be aware that other service providers may implement similar sanctions at any time.
