Why Does On-Campus Anti-Oppression Work Matter to You?

Join the Anti-Oppression Knowledge Integrators working group for an open discussion about the place of anti-oppression work (e.g. decolonization, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion) at the University of Waterloo.

Globally, anti-oppression work is under attack – it is time to ask, “why does on-campus anti-oppression work matter?”

Established in the Department of Knowledge Integration (KI) in the summer of 2020, AOK is one of the few dedicated working groups focused on engaging KI students, staff, alumni, and the wider environment faculty in anti-oppression initiatives. Since our work is made possible through collaborations with diverse groups and individuals, we invite the university community to engage in a meaningful conversation about how to foster a more inclusive and equitable academic community.

Come join the discussion: March 7th at 2:30 pm EV2-2002.

We look forward to meeting you and collaborating on future initiatives to continue improving our university’s values of anti-oppression for its faculty, students, and staff.

This seminar is open to the public: all undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff, visitors are welcome to attend. If you are a prospective high school student and would like to attend this seminar, please contact ki@uwaterloo.ca to plan your visit!
