Our library buildings are currently closed due to COVID-19. Some items are available to borrow through our book pickup service.
My library account
Students, faculty, and staff can log in to your library account using a WatIAM user ID and password. Community borrowers can sign in using their 14-digit barcode number as their user ID and click 'Reset your password' before logging into their library account for the first time. Logging into your library account will enable you to:
- access resources in Omni, our catalogue
- see which books you have checked out and when they are due
- renew books and periodicals
- place requests for book pickup service or digitization
- view any outstanding fines
- adjust your personal display profile
- view and re-run your saved searches
Your library card
Students, faculty and staff
Your WatCard is your library card. Use it to:
- sign out books
- view your account
- request items from other libraries
- get access from anywhere
- print and photocopy
New faculty, staff, and postdoctoral fellows will need to activate their library card before they can use it.
Alumni have access to the library and many of its resources. To access services, you will need to apply for an Alumni WatCard, then register your card with the Library using the online registration form. Expired student WatCard information cannot be used in this form.
Please visit the Library's site detailing alumni borrowing privileges. Note that alumni have access to a select list of electronic resources. Unfortunately, the Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals and Building Types Online are not on this list; their licenses do not permit alumni access.
Having trouble accessing available library resources with your Alumni WatCard? Get access from anywhere using your new alumni barcode to access ebooks and other electronic resources.
Residents of Cambridge, and students from other colleges and universities, can also sign up for a community borrower card. Come prepared with your proof of address and student identification, or contact us for more information.
