Library achieves Silver in Excellence, Innovation and Wellness

Friday, November 17, 2017

The Library was recognized at the Excellence Canada Summit last week for achieving Silver certification in Excellence Canada's Excellence, Innovation and Wellness (EIW) program.

Summit attendees enjoyed entertainment from Red Sky Performance and benefited from talks on workplace culture, building partnerships with Indigenous people and taking a fresh perspective on innovation. The day was also punctuated with Tri Fit workplace fitness breaks that got everyone moving.

The Silver certification process was a transformative one for the Library. Staff from all library departments were involved in an intensive period of investigation, analysis, recommendations, communications and improvements. The process enacted significant changes that will be evident in the everyday operations of the Library, and will guide how we move forward.  Opportunities identified during the process have been rolled into the Library’s multi-annual planning and priorities process to keep up the momentum as the University moves towards Gold.
