As the snow settles on the ground, covering Mother Earth with that protective blanket, we two-leggeds respond by settling into our lodges, and welcoming the warmth of connection and family that envelopes us. For Anishinaabe, biiboon/winter is the season for sharing stories.

Check how busy the library is before you visit!

Those wishing to find a spot to study at our Libraries can now check how busy our various study spaces are before you visit by going to the library homepage or bookmarking our page on Waitz to view live occupancy levels of specific floors or spaces within our libraries.

Celebrating a lifetime connection on National Philanthropy Day

Lynn Dramnitzki remembers fondly her father working at the University of Waterloo during her childhood, as a custodian and facilities staff person. When the time came for her to consider universities, there was no question where she wanted to go.

As a Sociology major at Waterloo, Lynn enjoyed her time on campus. Attending talks and author readings, and evenings at Fed Hall were just as impactful as her studies as she navigated university life and learned about who she was. She completed her undergraduate degree, transformed by a passion for learning.

Staebler Insurance OER Fellows Grant 2025-26: Now Accepting Applications

As part of the Library’s efforts to ensure learning materials are freely accessible and available to learners and researchers at Waterloo, we’re once again seeking applications from Waterloo instructors with projects to create or adapt an open educational resource (OER) for a Waterloo course.

UWSpace, Waterloo’s institutional repository, has a new look

Over the last few months, the Library has been migrating UWSpace to a new version of its software, updating features such as a new user interface with increased accessibility, improved search functions and an easier submissions process.
