Free open access publishing offered through Library agreements

As part of a national consortium of libraries, the Library works to further the goal of expanding access to research through sustainable models. Our Library currently has 11 open access (OA) agreements with academic publishers that allow members of the University of Waterloo community to publish fee-free.

Special Collections & Archives’ commitment to reconciliation

Over the last several years the Library has been taking tangible steps to contribute to the reconciliation work happening at the University of Waterloo. Recent projects have included the creation of an Indigenous Research Guide and increasing our number of pre-approved smudging spaces in our libraries.

New Smudging Locations in the Library

There are several new pre-approved smudging locations in our main campus library locations, expanding the smudge-friendly spaces available at the Library. These spaces have been selected to cover a range of locations, circumstances and library users.
