Libraries are a place where everyone should feel welcome and be able to easily access the information, resources and support needed to be successful in their learning and research. In order to serve our diverse campus community, the Library has created the Adaptive Technology Centre (ATC) to enhance the educational experience for those that need it.
With the speed at which content is created these days, there can be confusion about the rules for using something created by someone else. Grabbing a meme you saw on someone’s Instagram to reshare on your personal account is one thing; using it in an academic setting is another. The Library has experts that can you navigate complicated copyright rules.
The University of Waterloo Library curates a collection of resources and support that matches and anticipates the needs of our campus community. A great example of this is our support of entrepreneurs. Waterloo is known for its innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem and that requires unique resources and expertise, from ideation to commercialization.
Many of the Library’s resources are easily accessible online for anywhere, anytime use. But as we’ve all experienced at one point or another, sometimes things can go wrong. Just like with our Ask us service, there are real people on hand to support the campus community if they have trouble accessing any of our digital resources.
