The University of Waterloo Library curates a collection of resources and support that matches and anticipates the needs of our campus community. A great example of this is our support of entrepreneurs. Waterloo is known for its innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem and that requires unique resources and expertise, from ideation to commercialization.
Rachel Figueiredo, our entrepreneurship and management sciences librarian, shares more about how she supports the campus community.
Who is the primary user of this service?
Anyone! I support Waterloo students, staff and faculty at all levels: from people who are just entrepreneurially-curious, to those who are actively working on a business or commercializing their research.
How does this service help library users?
Specifically, I help users with their secondary market research: finding information that’s already been published on their topic so they can use that to inform their decision-making. But I can also be a sounding board for people’s ideas, or I can help connect users with other entrepreneurship supports around campus.
What is your number one tip to users to get the most out of this service?
Check out my Entrepreneurship & Innovation Guide, which lists all the market research resources we have access to through the Library. It’s a great starting point, and then you can book an appointment with me if you have follow-up questions!
Follow along all week as we spotlight more services and resources the Library provides to the campus community. And be sure to follow us on social media to keep up to date with all our latest news!
