The Library is pleased to announce the appointment of Meghan Whitfield as Senior Development Officer beginning August 27, 2019. Megan comes to the Library from a leadership role in the University of Waterloo's annual giving program, and brings a wealth of program experience with philanthropy in cultural heritage and academic institutions.
After studying fund development as part of her cultural studies program at the University of Waterloo, Meghan started her career in fundraising at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in Toronto, where she was integral to the launch of the Young Patron’s Circle, a dynamic program designed to engage a younger demographic in philanthropy. Shifting her focus to higher education, she moved to the University of Toronto where she worked to help alumni fulfil their philanthropic goals through annual and planned giving. Meghan holds the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation and was awarded the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Rising Star award in 2015.
Meghan will work closely with the Office of Advancement to strengthen the Library's giving programs as part of the University's overall strategy.
