The competition is part of the campus-wide Waterloo Engineering Competition presented with the assistance of the  Engineering Society (EngSoc).

Eighteen teams of Waterloo engineering students (most of which from Management Engineering) were challenged to make critical decisions and implement new plant solutions in the Plantville simulated environment, all with the goal of improving Key Performance Indicators.

Siemens representatives Burshu Nkwawir, Business Unit Manager of Mechanical Drives and Liudmilla Nabki, Manager of Strategic Marketing, Pricing and CRM were on hand to sit on the panel of judges alongside University Faculty members Ken McKay from Management Sciences, Hiren Patel from Electrical and Computer Engineering and Oscar Nespoli from Mechanical Engineering.

Of the eighteen competing teams, eight teams were chosen to present their competitive approaches to the judges, with the top three teams winning cash prizes and opportunities to interview with Siemens Canada for valuable co-op and possible post-graduate career opportunities.

We want to congratulate everyone who participated in the 2012 Waterloo-Siemens Plantville Competition.

The winning teams were:

First place Sally Lee and William Truong 4A Management Engineering
Second Place Sarah Sleiman and Megan Maguire 4A Management Engineering
Third Place Ilhae Kim and Kenny Kaming Leung 2B Management Engineering
