Umair Shah, a lecturer in the Department of Management Science and Engineering has adopted an innovative approach to bridge the ‘industry-academe’ divide by piloting the use of the Riipen  platform at the University of Waterloo.

Riipen has allowed Shah to offer various experiential learning opportunities to his fully online and in-class undergraduate and graduate level students. In the last year alone, nearly 500 students enrolled in Shah's classes have worked in over 60 teams to successfully complete projects of 14 industry partners.
