With support from the Research Support Fund, Waterloo subscribes to Pivot-RP to provide a robust and searchable funding database to researchers. Researchers can set up their own profile within the database to receive personally customized funding opportunity reports sent directly to them on their preferred schedule .
The database also generates sponsor-specific newsletters (general, international, government & non-profits, and tri-agency-related) and sends them on a weekly basis to the Associate Deans of Research in each of the six faculties and to the deans of Affiliated & Federated Institutions of Waterloo for further distribution, The weekly newsletters are also sent to faculty deans, various managing directors of research centres, both inside the Office of the Vice President Research and International (OVPRI) and across campus as an FYI. These newsletters provide timely updates, that can be revised to include research funding-related announcements the OVPRI team wishes to distribute beyond the list of actual funding opportunities.
