CIHR Commercialization Peer Review Committee Information Session

A CIHR Commercialization Peer Review Committee Information Session is planned for Thursday June 23, 2022, from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm EDT. The purpose of this session is to give potential applicants to the Commercialization Peer Review Committee of the CIHR Project Grant program (CMZ) an opportunity to hear first-hand about the committee ‘culture’: what aspects are generally well-received by reviewers in CMZ, what factors are considered more important than others, how the committee’s mandate is interpreted, what types of proposals are transferred to or from other committees.

Faculty members, staff (i.e., Research staff, Safety Office staff, Research Ethics staff, and Information Systems & Technology staff involved in research using biological, chemical, radiological, or nuclear materials or technology) and students are invited to join Public Safety Canada (PSC) for the Safeguarding science workshop.

Registration is required to receive a link for this event.

You are invited to a public event and panel discussion to raise awareness about social determinants of health, with guest speakers, Leia Minaker, associate professor, University of Waterloo, Ashnoor Rahim, executive director, KW4 Ontario Health Team and Clare Wagner, director, community services, House of Friendship.

Friesen lecture with Lorne Tyrrell

Waterloo faculty, staff and students are invited to attend the Friesen lecture featuring Dr. David Lorne J. Tyrrell, recipient of the 2021 Henry G. Friesen International Prize in Health Research, awarded by Friends of CIHR. Dr. Tyrrell is a distinguished professor at the University of Alberta with major interests in the prevention and treatment of viral diseases. His multi-faceted career in academic medicine, virology, pharmaceutical enterprise and dedicated advocacy for health research in Canada are being honoured with the 2021 Henry G.
