Canada Research Chairs, NSERC and SSHRC funding awarded in national announcement

Four University of Waterloo researchers have been named new or renewing Canada Research Chairs (CRC). They are:

Canada Research Chair in Artificial Intelligence for Human-centered Human-machine Interfaces

NSERC Tier 2 (New): $500,000 over five years

Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Waters, Climate and Sustainability

SSHRC Tier 2 (New): $500,000 over five years (Plus an additional $125,000 through the Canada Foundation for Innovation's John R. Evans Leaders Fund)

The announcement of Canada Research Chairs was made by today by the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry (ISED).

The national announcement included funding for Waterloo researchers through the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council’s (NSERC) Discovery Grants program. Fifty Waterloo researchers received funding for new or renewing Discovery grants.
