The University of Waterloo is pleased to announce that we are now a partner in the Brain-Heart Interconnectome (BHI) scholarship program. This program provides financial support to exceptional master’s and doctoral students conducting interdisciplinary research that advances the scientific strategy of the Brain‑Heart Interconnectome. The BHI seeks to improve the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of concurrent brain-heart-mind conditions through integrated collaboration among brain, heart and psychiatric researchers; patients, physicians and partners across academia, industry and government; and community organizations.
The BHI will invest in the BHI Scholarship Program over four annual launches of the program (2025–2028). Additionally, Waterloo has committed co-funding for Master's and/or Doctoral Scholarships for trainees based at the University. This is an important training initiative that invests in new talent for this critical area which affects many in our communities.
