Two University of Waterloo researchers were awarded funding through the Government of Canada’s Canada Research Chairs (CRC) Program.

Karen Yeats, Associate Professor, Combinatorics and Optimization
Canada Research Chair in Combinatorics of Quantum Field Theory
NSERC Tier 2 (renewal): $500,000 over five years
The funding was part of an announcement June 2, 2022 by the Honourable François Philippe-Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry of more than $102 million in support of 119 new and renewed Canada Research Chairs at 35 Canadian research institutions. This latest cycle of CRCs will conduct ground-breaking research in fields such as economics of sustainability and globalization, processing of viral vectors and vaccines, Indigenization of higher education, stem cell models of childhood disease, Black arts and epistemologies, forests and global change, and many others.
