In accordance with Policy 45—The Dean of a Faculty, the Dean of Environment Nominating Committee will lead a reappointment process as Bruce Frayne has indicated his willingness to be considered for a second term. This second term will begin July 1, 2027.
The UWSA is responsible for appointing one staff member to the committee, normally from the faculty of concern.

What’s involved
The process typically includes meetings with the Nominating Committee for preparation, check-in at key decision points, and final decision; and direct engagement with key stakeholders on the suitability of reappointment of the current Dean.
Qualifications
The UWSA Appointments Committee is particularly looking for candidates who are committed to:
- soliciting the views of employees in the Faculty in question and to understanding the diverse experiences and needs of staff;
- equity, diversity, and inclusion in hiring;
- reviewing materials carefully and ask thoughtful and constructive questions; and
- sharing their thoughts and opinions with the committee while maintaining respect for the perspectives of others.
No committee experience is required, and all Voting Members are encouraged to apply.
