Centre for Computational Mathematics in Industry and Commerce
Mathematical models have become more complex and require much more computation. They are being developed for, and applied to, many more situations than every before - from basic science, to industrial manufacturing and design, climate modeling, financial analysis, information security, data mining and countless others. There is a large body of computational mathematical knowledge that is required by all such areas. Moreover, there are outstanding opportunities for cross-fertilization of ideas, methods, and technology from one area to another; many problems would benefit from a more collaborative research effort. By gathering together researchers of wide interests from various areas of computational mathematics, the Centre for Computational Mathematics in Industry and Commerce provides an environment for such interdisciplinary and collaborative research.
