Postdoctoral Position in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or Quantitative Finance

One or more postdoctoral fellow positions in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or Quantitative Finance are currently available in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of Waterloo. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to join the group of Professor Ruodu Wang on one (or more) of the following areas:

1) Quantitative risk management

2) Selective inference and e-values

3) Decision theory, insurance, and financial economics

4) Optimal transport theory.

A postdoc appointment is typically either one or two years. Teaching is not mandatory for this position, but the postdoctoral fellow may have the opportunity to teach (with compensation) no more than one course in Actuarial Science or Statistics per academic year based on teaching qualifications and department needs.

The starting date of the positions is flexible, and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants are expected to hold a Ph.D. degree in Actuarial Science, Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Mathematical Economics, or a related area.
