A fourth-year student team from Systems Design Engineering that consists of David Lu, Daniel Schwartz, Adam Thompson, and Michal Ulman has won one of the six $10,000 prizes at the annual Esch Entrepreneurship Awards Pitch Competition.

The team presented their Capstone Design Project, Chameleon Hearing Protection, that is meant to decrease the risk of Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) in periodically loud environments. The team was supervised by Dr. Igor Ivkovic and advised by Dr. Matt Borland, both from System Design Engineering.

The Esch Awards support creative and entrepreneurial students in the pursuit of research and development and its commercialization for the benefit of Canada."
