The Department of Systems Design Engineering (SYDE) is committed to ensuring everyone has the tools and information necessary to work and learn safely. The SYDE Health and Safety committee works with our community members and the University of Waterloo Safety Office to mitigate environmental and occupational health and safety risks appropriately.
All faculty, staff, and students working and learning in SYDE spaces are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the SYDE Safety Manual. Please consult the Safety Office website for more information, including procedures and protocols regarding research laboratory safety.
