ng has been named to a high-profile list of the 100 most powerful women in Canada.

Malgosia Green is among 11 leaders in education, business and the community who made the grade and have campus-wide ties to the University of Waterloo.

The Women’s Executive Network (WXN), an organization that aims to propel and celebrate the advancement of professional women, recently released its 2022 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winners to celebrate women across the country for their leadership and accomplishments.

Green (BASc ’02, systems design engineering) was named in the most powerful CEOs category. She currently serves as CEO for Plenty of Fish, where she leads the evolution of one of the largest dating apps in the United States.

The list also includes two Waterloo Engineering graduates, Stephanie Thompson (BASc ’01, chemical engineering) and Laura Kennedy (BASc ’96, mechanical engineering), along with several other faculty, staff, and alumni from across the Waterloo community. 

“I’m immensely proud of the influential people who are part of the UWaterloo community and the University’s role in supporting strong leaders who make meaningful contributions to society,” said Dr. Vivek Goel, president and vice-chancellor of the University. “I wish to acknowledge the accomplishments of these women and offer my congratulations to them for this honour.”
