Covid-19 biosensor
Research students Inna Novodchuk and Muhammed Kayaharman co-advised by Prof. Eihab Abdel-Rahman at the University of Waterloo, Department of Systems Design Engineering, are developing a COVID-19 biosensor.

They are utilizing a graphene-based thin film transistor covalently functionalized with antibodies to detect a synthetic COVID-19 spike protein. If successful, this device would be able to detect COVID-19 within minutes and at low concentrations.
