How teachers and guidance counsellors can help

Students that contact and connect with AccessAbility Services earlier generally adjust and transition better from high school to university. Accommodations and supports can be put in place so that when classes begin they are ready to go and challenges presented by their disability have been addressed.

Teachers and guidance counsellors can help by advising and encouraging your students to:

  • Contact AccessAbiltiy Services
  • Assist the student to gather documentation of their disability on file at the high school as required
  • Encourage students to visit campus
