1B Final Project: Pavilion Model

The end of the first full year in Architectural Engineering culminates in student groups collaborating on a design for a Pavilion installation in Waterloo Park. Each group visits their site in the park where the pavilion is to be built, to assess how their structure will interact with the landscape, pathways, weather and people. The design process may go through several iterations before a final structure is approved. Groups must then work together to make initial sketches, a digital 3d model and a physical model. The physical model can incorporate components that have been made using the laser cutter, CNC machine or 3d printer. Students must then present their finished model, along with their sketches and 3d model, to their peers and industry experts.
