Architectural Engineering

Future students

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) in collaboration with the School of Architecture, established the Architectural Engineering (AE) program to produce an engineer with the ability to picture the whole scope of building design, construction, assessment and refurbishment.

In the AE program, students problem solve to address society's most pressing issues. With buildings accounting for 40% of our country's energy consumption, the urbanized world faces a demand for engineers technically skilled in the whole scope of a building's life cycle.

The unique backbone of the Architectural Engineering degree is the Design Studio course which runs each term throughout the degree. Most studio projects are group-based. The group work will allow for more significant projects, provide experience with collaboration, and render project supervision and review manageable for class size. At least one significant project deliverable will be performed individually.
