Scholarships	Term	Description
NEWH The Hospitality Industry Network Scholarships	Winter	Open to students with a major and career objective within hospitality: (interior design, culinary, hotel management, architecture, etc.)
Korean Canadian Scholarship Foundation (KCSF) Scholarships and Bursaries	Winter	Provides scholarships, bursaries and student development programs to young Canadians and permanent residents of Korean heritage, Korean international students studying in Canada, or Canadians with strong ties to the Korean-Canadian community.
Canada-China Scholars’ Exchange Program	Winter	offering short-term scholarships to Canadians wishing to study abroad in China. Scholarships are awarded for studies, research, language studies or a combination of studies and language studies at participating Chinese institutions.
National Urban Design Awards	Fall	The student category is administered through participating Canadian Universities. Submissions may also be made directly from a student enrolled in an accredited program in architecture, landscape architecture, or urban planning, in the past two years. Each school or individual student may forward submissions in the following categories: A submission from a studio with an emphasis on urban design; A submission as a result of a final project or an individual thesis.
The Garry Douglas Memorial Award	Fall	It is an award given to an Architectural Technology student in their graduating year, with a minimum 80% GPA. Submission requirements: Proof of enrollment at an accredited Ontario post-secondary institution Proof of 3.0+ GPA a 500-700 word essay
J. B. C. Watkins Award	Fall	This award is offered to a Canadian architectural student wishing to pursue postgraduate studies outside Canada, ideally in Denmark, Norway, Sweden or Iceland.
Ottawa Urban Design Awards	Spring	The Student Projects category is open to students that attend universities offering degrees in architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning and industrial design. The criteria for student projects are any theoretical or studio project that specifically relates to Ottawa.
Deloitte Canada Black and Indigenous Student Scholarship	Spring	We are selecting 25 students across Canada, who will be awarded a one-time $5,000 scholarship towards eligible school expenses, and an opportunity to complete a work term at one of our Canadian offices this year. The Black Student and Indigenous Student Scholarships are being offered to 25 candidates nationally, who meet the following criteria: You are eligible to work in Canada You self-identify as Black or Indigenous (Inuit, First Nations or Métis) You are enrolled in post-secondary education in Canada (full-time or part-time) You are a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year student
Leclair Decor Design Education Scholarship	Spring	This scholarship is open to any Canadian student who identifies as Black, Indigenous, or as a person of colour, and who is entering or currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary Interior Design or Interior Decorating program at a Canadian college or university.
Engineering Society Leadership Excellence First Year Award	Fall	This award is given to a full time undergraduate student enrolled in their 1A term in the Faculty of Engineering. Selection will be based on exceptional leadership within their high school or community at large prior to coming to Waterloo.
Engineering Society Leadership Excellence Award	Winter, Spring, Fall	This award is given to a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in any term from 1B-4B of any Faculty of Engineering program who has displayed exceptional leadership within the University, Faculty of Engineering, or community at large. Candidates must have attained an average of 60% in their most recent academic term.
Accenture Award	Winter	Selection of the recipient will be based on active participation/leadership in extracurricular activities, interest in pursuing a consulting-type career, academic achievement (minimum 75% overall average) and strong communication skills. Relevant work-term experience will also be considered. Applications should be submitted to the Student Awards Office during the 3B term.
Ledcor Group Upper-Year Scholarship	Fall	This is awarded to an outstanding undergraduate student entering Year Three or Four of Architectural Engineering, Civil, Environmental Engineering or Architecture Studies in the Faculty of Engineering. Selection is based on academic achievement (minimum 80% cumulative average), interdisciplinary interest in Civil Engineering and Architecture, extracurricular involvement, and demonstration of leadership potential. May also offer work-term position.
President's Upper Year Award	Spring	The President's Upper-Year Award program is the renewable part of the President's Scholarship of Distinction. It was created to encourage student participation in undergraduate research and international experiential activities among these scholars.
Janet Law-Yip Memorial Award	Fall	This is awarded to a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in Year Three or Four of any program in the Faculty of Engineering. Selection is based on academic achievement (minimum 75% cumulative average) combined with extracurricular involvement and/or volunteer activities. Preference will be given to students who have participated in student government.
Liu-Kennington Award for the 2SLGBTQ+ Engineering Community	Fall	This is awarded to a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in Year Two, Three, or Four in any program in the Faculty of Engineering. Selection is based on academic achievement (minimum 70% cumulative average) and positive contributions to the 2SLGBTQ+ community through extracurricular or volunteer involvement.
Matrin Eli Weil Prize	Winter	The Martin Eli Weil Prize is awarded annually by the Society for the Study of Architecture in Canada to a student who submitted an essay on the role played by the built environment in Canadian society. The $250 prize and certificate shall be awarded to the winner at the Annual Assembly of the Society, where he/she will be invited to present a conference on his/her essay. The winning essay shall also be published by the Society.

Region of Waterloo Art Fund	Fall, Spring	The Arts Fund has launched a one-stage online application portal and centralized processing of grants. Eligible applicants must live and/or work in Waterloo Region.
AZURE Magazine's AZ Awards	Winter	The AZ Awards celebrates the world’s best projects, products and ideas and is a unique opportunity for design professionals and design students to receive the international exposure and acknowledgement that their exceptional work deserves. All winners and shortlisted projects are published in the AZ Awards Annual – AZURE’s July/August issue – and are featured on AZURE’s and AZ Awards media partners’ digital and social channels.
Grand Valley Society of Architects Student Award	Winter	The Grand Valley Society of Architects (GVSA) is proud to announce that we will once again be hosting an awards program for students studying in the field of architecture at local post-secondary schools. The awards program is intended as a way to strengthen engagement between the GVSA and the next generation of architects, designers, and technologists within our community. Students may submit individually or as a group. Cash prizes will be awarded on a per project basis.
Great Places Awards	Winter	EDRA welcomes submissions from the full breadth of environmental design and related research activities, including architecture, landscape architecture, planning, urban design, interior design, lighting design, graphic design, place-based public art, environmental psychology, sociology, anthropology, geography, and the physical sciences.
Vince Catalli Scholarship for Sustainable Architectural Innovation	Winter	The intent of this scholarship is to promote and encourage innovative, practical, scalable and transferable approaches to sustainable design among the next generation of architects in Canada. This award is open to 4th year undergraduate students.
The Arts and Letters Club of Toronto Foundation's Award for Architectural Conservation	Winter	As the country grows and changes, historic buildings play a crucial role in place-making, now and into the future. This annual award will recognize emerging heritage conservation practitioners and will celebrate excellence, innovation, and best practices in the applied field of architectural conservation while supporting an understanding of Canada’s built heritage. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada working on applied research and/or projects that are making a tangible contribution to the field of architectural conservation within Canada, and must be either a student at an accredited Canadian school of architecture or a recent architecture graduate (within five years).
RAIC Foundation Bursary	Winter	The RAIC Foundation Bursary was established to support a project consistent with the RAIC Foundation’s mission to promote architecture in its broadest sense. The winning submission will be for a project that encourages public education or enables significant scholarly research that results in publications, exhibitions, symposia, lectures, or conferences.
RAIC International Prize Scholarships	Winter	The RAIC International Prize Scholarships are three scholarships awarded to students of architecture in conjunction with the RAIC International Prize. They are open to students registered in a Canadian architecture program at any point in the period between the submission deadline for the previous cycle of the RAIC International Prize Scholarships and the submission deadline of the current cycle.
CSA Group Undergraduate Research Scholarship	January 31, 2023	The CSA Group Undergraduate Research Scholarship supports undergraduate students in the pursuit of novel research related to standards. The research is to be conducted over a summer term under the direct supervision of an academic advisor. Undergraduate degree students studying at a publicly-funded, accredited Canadian college or university in their second year of study or higher are eligible to apply.
Niagara Society of Architects, Michael Zuberec Scholarship	March 30, 2023	The scholarship is open to individuals who are studying architecture in a program leading to registration as an architect, or are undertaking post-graduate (post professional) studies in architecture, and who have completed high school at a school located in the Regional Municipality of Niagara. Other significant connections with Niagara may be considered - such as employment with a Niagara-area architect while following the RAIC Syllabus program.

Construction Estimating Services Scholarship	December 22, 2023	The Pinch Estimating Scholarship is a one-time award available to students in the USA and Canada. In order to be considered eligible, applicants must satisfy the following set of criteria: Accepted into an accredited college or university. Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Demonstrate leadership ability. Intend to use the scholarship funds for tuition purposes only. Must be studying architecture, design, and planning or any course related to the construction industry.
