Since graduating the University of Waterloo in 2019, Joshua took a year to work in Toronto at MJMA, an interdisciplinary architecture and design firm who specialize in public space design. During that time, he worked on a variety of projects, including a community centre in his hometown of North Bay. Recently he has co-founded an architectural visualization firm called nineplusten with two former classmates.

In 2020, he began his Masters of Architecture at McGill university, where he has recently completed a studio term focusing on the risks of coastal erosion in the Saint Lawrence River, designing a community centric reclamation collective. His current thesis work focuses on non-rivalrous design, with a specific focus on the inequalities of the public realm, titled The "Missing Public" – A Guide to more Inclusive Public Design.
