After studies at the Waterloo School of Architecture from 1981 to 1987, I moved directly to Stockholm, Sweden and employment in a large local architectural practise. In 1991 I moved on to found BAU – Byrån för Arkitektur och Urbanism, with three partners. The office has grown successively and today we are about 70 people, with myself the only remaining founding partner and CEO together with seven new partners.
As the company name implies we work in a broad spectrum of project categories, from large scale urban planning to detail planning, office, retail and housing as well as occasional industrial and infrastructure projects – we have even designed cruise ferries to run between Sweden and Finland.
We work in 3d Archicad on all projects, were early with this and in Sweden we have pioneered the use of advanced daylight simulation as part of the building design process. We are a pragmatic, humanistic office that builds with the desire to innovate through broad technical competence and to be part of a sustainable society – both environmentally and socially.
