Solidago glomerata

Clustered Goldenrod

Solidago glomerata Michx. is a high polyploid (2n=108, 126) growing at the highest elevations in the southern Appalachian Mts. of North Carolina and Tennessee.  It has large heads for Solidago(Semple & Cook 2006 FNA).  Its big leaves and big heads make the plant showy. The cytovoucher for a report from South Carolina is for a specimen of S. faucibus (Weiboldt & Semple 2004; Cook & Semple 2008).
